Porsche Vision Gran Turismo HMI

HMI Design

Porsche VGT HMI Details

The interior design of the Vision Gran Turismo aims to fuse present and future with a nod towards the past. Familiar Porsche EV dials are now a hologram that appear to float above the flat topped steering wheel, the central console is similar to a 918 and the drive mode dial on the wheel is similar to that featured in recent 911s.

Stepping inside the cabin beneath the dramatic roof clam, the driver-focused cockpit features most of the controls on the yoke-like steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara. Only vegan materials were used throughout the interior as Porsche is one of the many automakers promoting sustainability.

According to interior designer Doeke de Walle, Porsche is keen to retain a combination of digital and analogue inside, hence the VGT's look - "we don't want to go completely digital in our cars", he noted. The VGT shares a lot with the Mission R, another mid-engined electric Porsche that was half race car and half simulator pod.
